Navajo County’s existing Comprehensive Plan

Navajo County’s existing Comprehensive Plan was first adopted in May 2004, following the adoption of Growing Smarter legislation in Arizona, and most recently re-adopted by the Board of Supervisors in May 2023. Navajo County’s Comprehensive Plan has not seen any major updates since its original adoption, although there have been changes in population and demographics over the past twenty (20) years. The Navajo County 2050 Update (Update) will align this important long-range document with the community’s vision and values for the future of the County.
This Update is focused on exploring and defining the ways the County has changed over the past twenty (20) years while looking to the future and creating a community-built vision that guides the County’s day-to-day decisions more accurately and holistically.
The process has 6 phases and will run through December 2024. There will be several unique opportunities to engage and give your thoughts on the future of Navajo County over the next year! To follow along with project updates and sign up to receive updates, visit the website: publicinput.com/navajocounty2050
There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the Comprehensive Plan and give your input at this year’s Navajo County Fair & Rodeo held at the Fairgrounds in Holbrook, AZ.
Please note: as the year progresses, there will be more events set up throughout the county for residents to come participate in. The events listed in the accompanying graphic are only for the events happening in the near future. We will continue to schedule more and get the word out as we do!
