Jason E. Whiting has served on the Navajo County Board of Supervisors since 2014. Supervisor Whiting represents District III, which includes the communities of Snowflake, Taylor, Woodruff, Shumway, Silver Lake Estates, White Mountain Lakes, Clay Springs, and portions of Heber-Overgaard and also Holbrook.

Growing up in Northeastern Arizona, Jason comes from a long family legacy of service and learned early the rewarding importance of giving back and working intentionally to continually develop the community around him.When the professional career opportunity presented itself for him to return to the region 18 years ago, he eagerly jumped at the opportunity to bring his family home.Jason became involved with the local Chamber of Commerce, eventually becoming President.Jason later served on the Snowflake Town Council where he served as Vice-Mayor and then ran for office of Mayor and won. Shortly after his election to Snowflake Town Mayor, an opportunity came up to serve on Navajo County Board of Supervisors. After a number of constituents requested he put his name into consideration, Jason did so and was appointed to the Navajo County Board of Supervisors.

As a County Supervisor, Jason has championed a disciplined approach to finances that includes prudent financial reserves, sustainable wages for working families, and targeted infrastructure investments for a bright future. Jason also serves as Chairman of RealAZ, an organization of community and business leaders throughout northeastern Arizona helping to promote and market our business communities.

Through his leadership in the Four Forest Restoration Initiative (4FRI), Jason also has taken a very active interest to safeguard our communities from fire danger by returning the forests to healthy, fire-adapted ecosystems which also creates and develops sustainable timber industry in the region. During his tenure, forest restoration output has more than doubled from 8,000 acres annually to 15,000-20,000 acres through key partnerships in the region.

Supervisor Whiting is the Past President of the County Supervisors Association (CSA). This association represents all 15 counties in Arizona and works with State Legislature to develop smart public policy and new legislation. In further efforts to build out networks and provide opportunities for our area, Jason also serves as a member of the AZ Coalition of Counties and the Eastern AZ Coalition of Counties.

Enjoying family life with his wife Shanda and their four children, work, and community involvement is a top priority for Jason.He has a passion for supporting youth development through sports and is a past president of the Local Youth Football League.Jason also currently coaches' football at Snowflake High School.
